Salesforce, the world’s largest CRM provider has announced at its annual Dreamforce event, the Internet of Things (IoT) Cloud, powered by Salesforce Thunder. The IoT will gathers data information from devices, ranging from fridges to thermostats. This will allow any internet connected device to provide information to organisation running Salesforce, which allow the companies to respond to customer service inquires.
Salesforce has always been a big advocate for the IoT (especially wearable) having been one of the first enterprises to create apps for the Apple Watch. If successful, IoT Cloud could increase the amount of personalisation we see from many services. It hold enormous potential for companies to take advantage of this new data, with the possible impact of $11.4 trillion per annum in 2025.

The IoT Cloud will allow businesses to create real-time 1:1, proactive actions for sales, service, marketing or any other business process, delivering a new kind of customer success” announced Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce.
